Before birth, Mary at the Manger

Taking us back to the First Christmas Eve, this painting reminds us that our Lord and Savior, Jesus, was born in an obscure little town, in a stable, and in a manger, because there was no room at the inn.
There were only his mother, Mary, his father, Joseph, the donkey that carried Mary there, and the animals that lived in and around the stable. These animals are symbols of God’s sacred Creation.
The only other humans were not yet there, but the Three Wise Men/Magi were approaching from the East, and the Shepherds were about to be called by Angels and told that the King of Kings was born nearby in a manger, so follow His Star!
Commissioned by Padre Jairo Granados, pastor of Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Our Lady of Peace) Catholic Church (Barrio Guaraguao, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), 24 x 36 inches, acrylic on canvas, 2021. Padre Jairo commissioned this painting to be raffled off to raise funds for church repairs. The winner kindly and generously donated the painting to the church.
The painting is exhibited in La Iglesia Nuestra Señora de La Paz, Bo. Guaraguao, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Antes del Nacimiento, María en el Pesebre
Llevándonos a la Primera Nochebuena; esta pintura nos recuerda que nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesús, nació en un establo y en un pesebre, porque no había lugar en la posada.
Solo estaban su madre María, su padre José, el burro que llevó a María allí, y los animales que vivían en el establo y sus alrededores. Estos animales son símbolos de la sagrada Creación de Dios.
Los únicos otros humanos aún no estaban allí, pero los Tres Reyes Magos se estaban acercando desde el Este, y los Pastores estaban a punto de ser llamados por Ángeles y les dijeron que al Rey de Reyes había nacido cerca en un pesebre, así que ¡sigan Su Estrella!
Encargo del Padre Jairo Granados, párroco de Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Barrio Guaraguao, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), 24 x 36 pulgadas, acrílico sobre lienzo. El Padre Jairo encargó este cuadro para sortearlo y recaudar fondos para la reparación de la iglesia. El ganador, amable y generosamente, donó el cuadro a la iglesia.
La pintura se exhibe en La Parroquia Nuestra Señora de La Paz, Barrio Guaraguao en Guaynabo Puerto Rico.
